The owners, master magicians John Milner and Tracie Hughes both began their careers at an early age. John is a Member of the Inner Magic Circle with a Gold Star and Tracie is an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star. They are both in demand all over the world performing magic as diverse close up with coins to large stage illusion such as producing cars. They have both appeared on television and before Royalty but their main area of work is currently the “corporate market”.

For many years they both had a secret yearning to open a magic shop and on September 22nd 2001 they finally achieved their goal.

The aim of the shop is to encourage new blood into the magic business. The House of Magic (UK) caters for the child with an interest, through to the professional magicians. We can supply tricks for grand parents to amaze the children with or tricks for adults to amuse colleagues in bars etc. or special effects for the professional magician.

John was fortunate to have a friend and mentor Ken Brooke who taught him for many years. Tracie learnt his craft from John. Realising that there was a need to encourage new blood into magic John and Tracie set up The House of Magic (UK) School of Wizardry in January 2003. This is now held in the evenings on most alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays. All members are sworn to secrecy. For more information contact The House of Magic (UK). During it’s short lifetime members have performed for several charities and received input from well know visiting lecturers. John like to think of the school as being member driven so that the teaching is directed at getting students to participate and to perform correctly.

We are just out of Stourbridge town. To find us get onto Stourbridge ring road, go past the Kidderminster exit and take the next exit (It looks a bit like a slip road) this runs into Greenfield Avenue. Go over the cross roads and you are in Brook Street. Go past Stephens Carpet Warehouse on your left and Stourbridge College Longlands Centre on your right. We are 100 m further down the street on the right opposite Clark Street.

We are currently open Monday – Friday 9.30 am – 5.00 pm and Saturdays 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
